The Academic Programme Manager and the Head of Experience will be based in Arusha, Tanzania.  The region was selected as the inaugural location for The Artemis Promise due to its dynamic young population, growing demand for high-quality education, and strong potential for long-term community impact.

Through local partnerships and sustainable programme delivery, Artemis aims to support educational excellence while contributing positively to the communities it serves.

To launch the programme, Artemis Education has entered into a strategic partnership with

Kennedy House International School, a private Cambridge-Curriculum Primary School in Arusha. The school, led by their Founder Francie Charters, has welcomed the opportunity to partner with Artemis Education and extend their educational offering and outreach through the addition of these two new roles.

To lead the programme on the ground, Artemis Education is pleased to announce the appointments of James Pitts as Academic Programme Manager and Veronica (Ronnie) Pitts as Head of Student Experience. Together, they become the first dedicated employees of The Artemis Promise, representing a significant milestone in the evolution of the initiative from strategic vision to operational reality.

“The launch of The Artemis Promise represents one of the most important moments for Artemis Education,” said Niall Brennan, Founder & CEO of Artemis Education.

“Education has the power to transform lives, communities and futures. Through The Promise, we are creating a platform that allows us to deliver meaningful and measurable impact at scale. The appointment of James and Ronnie marks the moment this vision becomes reality. We are proud to begin this journey in Tanzania, alongside Kennedy House International School, whose values, ambition and commitment to young people closely align with our own. Together, we look forward to creating lasting opportunities for students, educators and communities.”

About The Team

James Pitts joins Artemis Education with more than 25 years of educational leadership experience across the United Kingdom, Tanzania, Zambia and China. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions focused on academic excellence, school improvement, curriculum development and programme implementation.

His excellent experience across East Africa offers existing intercultural awareness and a long-term commitment to widening access to high-quality education, which completely aligns with the goals and ambitions of The Artemis Promise.

“I am honoured to join the founding team of The Artemis Promise at such an important stage in its development. For me, the real opportunity lies in working collaboratively with schools to identify where support can have the greatest impact, strengthen the quality of teaching and learning, and develop sustainable professional capacity. By listening first and building programmes around genuine local priorities, we have the opportunity to create measurable improvements that endure well beyond any individual project.” added James.

Her professional portfolio also includes significant experience in school culture, pastoral development, educational visits, events and wider co-curricular programmes.

As Head of Student Experience, Ronnie will lead work focused on the wider development of young people beyond academic outcomes alone. Her remit will include student wellbeing, enrichment, participation, personal development and opportunities that build confidence, resilience, leadership and a strong sense of belonging.

Working in partnership with Kennedy House and the wider community, Ronnie will help develop programmes that are inclusive, purposeful and responsive to the needs of young people.

Commenting on her appointment, Ronnie said:

“Student wellbeing, personal growth and belonging are fundamental elements of a successful education. The Artemis Promise gives us an exciting opportunity to create experiences that help young people flourish both inside and outside the classroom. I am particularly looking forward to developing opportunities that encourage participation, confidence, resilience and leadership, while ensuring that young people feel supported, valued and able to fulfil their potential.”
